Dal lake





Dal lake of srinagar is one of the most beautiful and picturesque lakes in India. Dal Lake is encircled by magnificent mountains by three sides. Dal Lake has a number of blooming gardens and orchards. Dal Lake is approximately 6 km by 3 km in size and changes its moods and scenery after every few kilometers.


Nagin Lake

 




Nagin Lake is located to the east of the srinagar , at the foothill of the mountain Zabarwan. The reflection of  the trees in  water of the lake lends it's a beautiful view. Surrounded by Shankaracharya hill (Takht-e-Suleiman) on the south and Hari Parbat on the west, the Nagin Lake of Kashmir presents a charming sight.


Wular lake

 





The largest fresh-water lake in India . It  is just  60 km from Srinagar. Spreading over a 125 km area, the lake, by drawing off excess water from the Jhelum, acts as a natural flood reservoir. Wular represents Nature at her most untamed.


Mansar Lake

 




Situated 62 kms from Jammu, Mansar is a beautiful lake fringed by forest-covered hills, over a mile in length by half-a-mile in width. BoatingBaisakhi , a food and crafts festival is organized here by J&K Tourism department. facilities are available in the spot. Every year around


Sruinsar Lake

 






This lake is located approximately 42 km from Jammu and is a must see for its breathtaking view. It is a picturesque spot with a lake surrounded by wooded hills.


Pangong Lake

 





This lake is situated at a elevation of 14,000ft. In the Eastern sector of Ladakh, at a distance of 154km.from Leh across Changla pass (17,000ft.).This lake is one of the largest and most beautiful natural brakish lakes in the country and even Asia too.


T so moriri Lake

 





T so moriri or mountain Lake is situated in the middle of the elevated valley of Rupshu surrounded by 6000 m peaks which completely surrounds the lake. The Area is rich in wildlife including the "Kyang" (wild ass), red fox and the rare snow leopard too.


T sokar Lake

 





T sokar Lake is approximately 45 kms northwest of the Tsomoriri Lake at a height of 4485 m. It is also called "White Lake" because of salt deposited around it. The water of T so kar is so salty that salt is procured from its banks and sold all over Kashmir.


     
Gangabal Lake

 






which stands at an elevation of 11,800 feet. To the South cast of the Pir Panchal range , surrounded by three peaks. Its is fed by glaciers. It is said to be a source of the Jhelum. in winter its surface is covered with ice-bergs.
