Yusmarg,
the nearest hill resort to Srinagar
is at a distance of 40 Km, situated
at an altitude of 7500 ft above
sea level, and is a small open valley
in the hills of the Pir Panjal range.
Giant pines and firs cover the mountain
slopes on either side. It is an
Ideal place for nature walks, along
the grassy meadow ringed by forests
of pine, and towering beyond them,
awesome and majestic snow clad mountains.
Among the various worth visiting
spots, Sun set peak and the Mahadev
mountain are the major point of

walks, pony treks and hikes are

for. One can hike or pony trek to
several places among them are
Tratta Kutti, Sang Safed, Nilnag
lake and more. Trekkers with
suffiencet time / days, can trek
up to Tosmaidan and beyond to Gulmarg.
One the way to about 13 Km, short
of Yusmarg, a short diversion would
take one to Charari Sharief, the
Shrine of saint Sheikh Noor –
ud –Din or Noor – Din
– Wali or Nund Reshi. |

Ahrabal,
51 Km from Srinagar is an enormous
and striking waterfall, crashing
down a narrow gorge from the height
of 24 Meter, formed by Veshav river.
