ITINERARY OF MOTORBIKE ADVENTURE TOUR TO LEH

Day 1  Chandigarh to Jammu to Patnitop


As soon as you get in Chandigarh, begin cruising up the motorway to Jammu.


Spend the night at the Patnitop or Mount Shivalik hotels.


Day 2: Patnitop to Srinagar


En route to the Kashmir Valley, ride through the beautiful and magnificent Himalayan scenery while passing via the Jawahar Tunnel.


Spend the night aboard the houseboat.


Day 3:  Srinagar to Sonamarg,  Zoji La Pass, Drass, and Kargil


Take a one-hour journey to Shikara to start your morning.


As you arrive in Kargil,you will ride via the well-known tourist locations Sonamarg and Ganderbal to see the Drass' War Monument.


Green fields will be on both sides of the road as you travel through Zoji La, and you will enjoy the sight of the local shepherds grazing their livestock.

Overnight in Kargil.


Day 4: Namik La (3700m)  - Fotu La (4100m) - Lamayuru - Leh


To get to Leh, the administrative centre of Ladakh, dubbed the "Little Tibet of India," you will travel today across several of the famed passes in the area.


The highest point on the NH1 is Fotu La. The motorway in question was attacked during the Kargil conflict. Moreover, you can go to Magnetic Hill, Sangam (Zanskar and Indus River), and Lamayuru Monastery as well as Gurudwara Paththar Sahib.

Two high-altitude mountain passes will be crossed during the following stage of the motorbike ride. After leaving Kargil, pass Lamayuru, one of Ladakh's oldest monasteries, also get to witness Mulbekh, a life-size Buddha sculpture on Rock Mountain. Take in the scenery of the moon. Spend the night in Leh.


Day 5: Local Tour of Leh


Get up early in the morning to see some of the area's well-known monasteries, including Hall of Fame, Thikshey Monastery, Shanti Stupa, Shey Palace, and Stok Palace.
Spend the night in Leh.


Day 6:  Leh to Khardung La (5359 m) and  Nubra Valley(140 km)
See the double-humped camel's homeland in Hunder (Nubra Valley).
You will pass across Khardung La, which is the highest motorable road, on your journey.


Owing to acclimatisation, you won't be spending any time at the Khardung La Summit today. Spend some time on the sand dunes and then take a ride on one of Hunder's double-humped camels for the ideal evening.

Spend a restful night at the hotel in Nubra Valley, which is close to the Nubra River.Enjoy stargazing at night.

 

Day 7: RETURN TO Leh


Follow the same journey back to Leh, stopping on route to explore Diskit Monastery and spend some time at Khardung La Top.

See the Grand Canyon-like scenery between North Pallu and Diskit.


Day 8:  Leh - Chang La - Pangong Tso


You will travel today to the tranquil Pangong Tso Trans Himalayan Lake. Lake is called Tso in the native language.China and India share Pangong Tso, with 30% of it in India and the balance in China.


At the Three Idiots point, savour the tranquillity of the lake. Undercover camping in the heart of the Himalayas.A lifetime's worth of memories will be created by the one million stars on the shores of the stunning lake.


Spend the night at Spangmik village, which is near Pangong Lake.


Day 9:  Pangong to Leh


The local market in Leh can be explored by taking the same way back.


Explore the eateries and local cuisines along the renowned Changspa and Old Fort Road.

Day 10:  Leh to Tanglang La, Moorey Plains, Pang, and Sarchu


Take the eagerly anticipated NH 21 after breakfast. The most well-known motorway for bikers and cyclists is this one, which connects Manali and Leh.You will pass through three high-altitude passes on the way to Sarchu with TanglangLa, the second-highest motorable road on the planet.


Reach Moore Plains or Pang Ground after descending from the TanglangLa summit. It is 40 kilometres long and has an average elevation of 4800 metres.


You will reach the Sarchu grazing pastures after traversing LachungLa and NakkeLa, two additional high-altitude passes.

Day 11:  Sarchu to Baralacha La, Keylong, Rohtang, and Manali


After breakfast, continue travelling on NH 21 to pass over 2 high-altitude Passes.


The first one will be Baralacha La. Suraj Tal is visible by the side of the road once you have passed the Baralacha La summit.


This lake serves as the source of the Bhaga River, a tributary of the Chenab River.


To avoid any difficulties crossing the Rohtang Pass, the final pass along the route, take a late lunch stop at Kohksar.


Rohtang will be crossed before you reach the renowned Kullu Valley.Retire for the night in Manali.


Day 12: Manali to Bilaspur to Chandigarh


Start your journey early in the morning and travel along the NH-21 until Chandigarh, where it comes to an end.


This journey comes to an end.Take sweet memories back home.

Your bike's oil strainer needs to be cleaned. If the reading is greater than 500, the engine oil should be changed.When you prepare for a long journey, you should also replace the oil filter.

Examine the brake pads for longevity and wear and tear, and replace them as necessary.

 

Verify that the piston rings, clutch plates and valves are in good working order.


Front and rear suspensions and the bike's spoke wheels need to be inspected.

A spark plug with 10,000 kilometres or more on it or an air filter needs to be replaced for safety reasons. The older ones should be kept around for use in emergencies rather than being thrown away.

12.Should I be worried about AMS(Acute Mountain Sickness)?

Acute Mountain Sickness, also known as AMS, is brought on by a brief exposure to low oxygen levels at a high altitude. AMS symptoms include, among others, nausea, exhaustion, a rapid heartbeat, and headache.
The customer is taken to the closest hospital and relocated to a lower altitude region. I there are any symptoms, it should be reported to the tour marshal right away. If there is any discomfort and oxygen levels drop, a backup oxygen cylinder is offered as an immediate relief. If your doctor certifies that you are healthy enough to travel, you can continue your journey; otherwise, you will be urged to return home.

13.Is this trip ideal for beginners/novices?
If you ride a bike frequently, this vacation is ideal for you. If you are not a rider, you can accompany your rider companion on the trip as a passenger or take a seat in a backup car.

15.What is the convenient way to reach Srinagar?
Flying is the best way to get to Srinagar. The airport in Srinagar is referred to as Sheikh ul Alam Airport. With frequent flights from Srinagar to Delhi, Mumbai, and Chandigarh, this airport is well linked. Only 15 kilometres separate the airport from the city's heart.
If you want to travel by train, you must get to either the Jammu Tawi or the Udhampur railway station. The stations have good connections to several regions of India. To get to this magnificent location from these stations, you can take a taxi, a private bus, or a state government bus. The capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir is Srinagar. Major cities like Delhi (876 km), Chandigarh (646 km), Leh (424 km), and Jammu are well connected to the city (258 km). Both the bus and cab services are excellent.

16.Is biking in Ladakh difficult?

Your trip to Ladakh may be fairly difficult due to the severe road conditions along this route. It may be very challenging to travel if the weather is not on your side. Many cyclists prefer the less challenging route through Srinagar to Sarchi and Upshi, which is also the easier option.
