Here, the footpath is preferable to the steps. To go to the Sanjhi Chatt, you must climb another 15,000 feet. The cave is about 4 km from the Sanjhi Chatt. The Sri Ram temple, where visitors descend 125 steps to honour a Shiva lingam located there, is adjacent to the Vaishno Devi caves.

Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan

In this cave Mata Vaishno Devi is present in the form of three pindis. The three forms of the mother durga are "Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Kaali." Here, the goddess killed the demon Bhairon.

Bhairav Temple and Bharon Ghati

It is customary for pilgrims to visit the Bhairav temple, which is around 2.5 kilometres from the main shrine, after visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine. The Yatra's final stop is at this location. After her worshippers come to this shrine, it is thought that the goddess grants their wishes. Hence, despite being enjoyable, the Yatra is a very difficult ascent for the pilgrims.

Hathi Mattha

Return to Sanjhi chhat after leaving Bharon Ghati, then travel to Hathi Matha.Pilgrims have to traverse 2.5 kilometres of extremely steep terrain. This is so named because the peak resembles an elephant's forehead.

Darshan of Adhkuwari

The halfway point between Katra and the shrine is now reached. Many pilgrims stop by this location, which is known as Ardh Kuwari, to rest for the night. The goddess had hidden herself in this cave, known as Garbha joon, for almost nine months. The pilgrims have to crawl through the 15-meter-long cave to get across it.

Charanpaduka Darshan

The next location is Charan Paduka, where a stone bears the goddess' "holy footprints,'' or charan paduka.

Darshan at the Ban Ganga Temple

Ban Ganga is the next location; Bhumika temple lies here where the goddess's dwelling, the Trikuta mountains, can be seen. The goddess is said to have vanished from this location and arrived at the Ban Ganga temple. According to legend, when the goddess threw an arrow at a stone, the holy river Ban Ganga erupted from it. Veer Langur was thirsty, therefore she acted accordingly. It is known as Ban Ganga because the goddess washed her hair here. Here, pilgrims can bathe in order to detoxify themselves. This is where the slip that was purchased from Katra is demonstrated to advance. About 3 miles separate this location from Katra.
